FAQs
What area do you service?
1
Our service area is Cedar Rapids metro - think Hiawatha, Marion, Robins, Fairfax, Ely. If you live in an area outside the service area, please reach out. Clients outside the service area will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and will incur an additional fee for travel.
We offer one on one private sessions with one dog learning at a time. We do not offer multi-dog or group classes at this time.
Depending on your training goals, a certain number of private sessions will be offered. Typically, packages are offered as 4-, 6-week, or 8-week (for puppy) bundles. Single sessions are an option for certain situations that can be addressed with one visit.
The recommended frequency of sessions will vary upon your training goals - typically weekly or biweekly sessions, with other frequencies available on a case-by-case basis.
Sessions will take place in the client’s home - as this is where most dogs spend their time.

What makes you different?
3
During the day, I work as a Veterinary Assistant at a small animal hospital. I regularly see dogs coming into the clinic that exhibit fear, anxiety & stress. My number one goal is to ensure their safety, but I also work very hard to make sure I am reducing their fear, anxiety & stress while they are interacting with me. This carries over into my training philosophy very evidently, with my mannerisms, body language, and how I approach different dogs. I work on building trust with your dog immediately, so that you and I can work with your dog effectively. I also know the same technique may not work for every dog - so being flexible is very important. Every dog has a different personality, and I will adjust training as needed to ensure a better outcome for your dog.
I am continually learning, growing and challenging myself. I keep up to date on new information in dog training - whether that is attending conferences & workshops, buying books to read, or signing up for webinars. I am open to feedback from my clients, and encourage it.

I am also an active member of APDT - Association for Professional Dog Training - and adhere to the ethical standards of conduct put forth by APDT.
I am currently logging the training hours needed to take an examination for certification via CCPDT - Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. CCPDT is the leading independent certifying organization for the dog training profession.
